Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage stars as popular Chicago TV weatherman David Spritz who has a shot at the big time when a national morning show, calls him for an audition. At the top of the world professionally, David is approaching disaster on a personal level as rapidly as the weather changes. His painful relationship with his wife (Hope Davis) and kids have David poised between stability and calamity, and he wants nothing more than respect from his father, a prize winning author played by two-time Academy Award winner Michael Caine. Trying to gain control, David slowly comes to realize that life, much like the weather, is completely unpredictable.
